Our Sweet Contribution to Children in Need

Our Sweet Contribution to Children in Need

Our Sweet Contribution to Children in Need

On 17th November, the air in Lewis Brownlee’s offices at Chichester, Midhurst, and Whiteley was even sweeter than usual. Our team members rolled up their sleeves for a heartwarming cause, hosting cake bakes across these three locations to support the wonderful Children in Need charity. This wasn’t just about the delicious cakes; it was a testament to our commitment to making a difference.

Making a difference that counts

Those of you familiar with our brand will know that we pledge ourselves to making a difference that really counts. That’s why, for us, our corporate and social responsibility is so important.

That being the case, it’s little surprise then that a humble ‘cake bake’ translated into everything from decadent chocolate cakes to scrumptious sponge cakes. It’s true, our offices were transformed into a baker’s paradise!

The dedication and talent of our bakers were on full display. Indeed, each cake was more than just a treat for the taste buds! They were also a symbol of our collective spirit of generosity. We are incredibly proud to announce that, amongst just our own colleagues, our cakes raised over £200 for Children in Need!!!

A BIG Thank you!

A massive thank you goes out to everyone involved – the bakers, who mixed and whisked their way into our hearts; the cake buyers, whose appetites for both cake and charity knew no bounds; and everyone who contributed to the success of this charity drive this year. Your efforts have truly made a difference.

What Even Small Amounts Make A Big Difference

Participating in Children in Need was especially significant for us at Lewis Brownlee. In our line of work, we understand the value of every figure, no matter how small, and the same principle applies to charity. Every cake sold and every penny raised is a step towards making a lasting impact on the lives of children who need it most. It’s about more than just raising funds; it’s about bringing hope and joy to young lives.

We believe that every little difference adds up to create a big impact. This event was a heartwarming reminder that when a community comes together, the smallest contributions can culminate in a powerful wave of change. So, here’s to many more such initiatives and to continuing to make a difference, one cake at a time!

Lewis Brownlee Champions Empowerment Gala for The Prince’s Trust ‘Change A Girl’s Life’ Initiative

At Lewis Brownlee, our commitment to fostering empowerment and opportunity shone brightly as we proudly sponsored the Freya Rose gala in support of The Prince’s Trust ‘Change A Girl’s Life’ initiative. This prestigious event, held on Friday evening, underscored our shared vision with Freya Rose: uplifting and supporting women in their journey towards success.

Changing a Girl’s life

The ‘Change A Girl’s Life’ initiative by The Prince’s Trust is a powerful movement aimed at transforming the future for young women across the UK. By providing the necessary tools, mentoring, and resources, the programme empowers girls to break through barriers, pursue their dreams, and create promising futures. This resonates deeply with our values at Lewis Brownlee, as we strive to enact positive change and offer support where it’s most needed.

The Balloon Extravaganza

The highlight of the night, seamlessly blending festivity with philanthropy, was the Balloon Game orchestrated by Lewis Brownlee. Andrea Todorov, our Head of Whiteley, delivered a riveting speech that culminated in an exciting balloon popping ceremony. The room erupted with vibrant orange confetti, with the exception of one balloon that released a shower of winning white confetti. The lucky holder won the sumptuous £300 Fortnum and Mason Christmas Hamper, we donated. This joyous moment symbolised the burst of opportunity and fortune that The Prince’s Trust aims to provide for every girl.

Offering Support

Supporting Freya Rose and The Prince’s Trust in this gala was not just a sponsorship; it was a declaration of our dedication to social responsibility and the empowerment of the next generation of women. It was an honour to contribute to such a meaningful cause and witness the tangible excitement and hope generated through our collaboration.

Giving Back…

At Lewis Brownlee, we understand the significance of giving back, and we are thrilled to have played a pivotal role in the success of this event. It is through actions like these that we continue to make a lasting impact and embody the change we wish to see in the world.

Our Fire Walk Challenge

Our Fire Walk Challenge

At Lewis Brownlee, we take our commitment to our Corporate and Social Responsibility Programme incredibly seriously! So, we’re excited to share news of one of our latest events with you!

Are you ready?

A Fiery Challenge

On the crisp evening of 20th October, a brave group from our Whiteley team undertook a task that would make most quiver – the Fire Walk Challenge. Six daring individuals – Andrea Todorov, Elise Saunders, Ellie Hall, Ellie Skinner, Mubarak Migil, and Shaun Dodson – faced the flames to raise funds for Wessex Cancer Support, a cause close to our firm’s heart.

About Wessex Cancer Support

Wessex Cancer Support has been a beacon of hope for many in the region. Providing care, support, and advice to those diagnosed with cancer, their work is invaluable. They offer a lifeline during what can be one of the most challenging periods in a person’s life.

From counselling and therapies to support groups and advice on living well after treatment, Wessex Cancer Support’s services have touched countless lives, making a significant difference when it matters the most.

The importance of organisations like Wessex Cancer Support cannot be overstated. It’s not just about treating cancer but about supporting the whole individual, ensuring that they don’t just survive but thrive. The emotional, psychological, and social effects of a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming, and Wessex offers a haven of support for all these aspects.

Why facing the flames was important to us!

Our firm has always been committed to standing behind causes that resonate with our values and ethos. By supporting Wessex Cancer Support, we are not only acknowledging the tangible work they do but also aligning ourselves with a vision of comprehensive care and unwavering support for all affected by cancer.

The goal for our daring six was to raise £100 each. However, their dedication and the outpouring of support saw them surpass this target, a testament to both their commitment and the generosity of those who supported them. Their fiery walk was not just about the physical challenge but a symbolic act, illustrating the resilience and strength of those battling cancer and the lengths we will go to in supporting them.

We are incredibly proud of Andrea, Elise, Ellie, Mubarak, Ellie S and Shaun. Their fiery endeavour has not only raised funds but also reinforced our firm’s commitment to supporting invaluable causes such as Wessex Cancer Support!

Lewis Brownlee, Freya Rose and The Prince’s Trust’s ‘Change a Girl’s Life’ Initiative

Lewis Brownlee, Freya Rose and The Prince’s Trust’s ‘Change a Girl’s Life’ Initiative

We’re thrilled to announce that Lewis Brownlee is honoured to sponsor tomorrow night’s Freya Rose Gala. This annual extravaganza is more than just a night of glamour; it serves as a platform for fundraising in aid of The Prince’s Trust charity. This year, the spotlight is on the Trust’s transformative initiative, ‘Change a Girl’s Life,’ a cause we wholeheartedly champion. Our sponsorship marks a significant milestone for us, reaffirming our commitment to social change and equal opportunities for all.

What the ‘Change a Girl’s Life’ initiative does

The ‘Change a Girl’s Life’ initiative is a remarkable venture aimed at supporting women in the UK who face disadvantages. By providing resources, mentorship, and opportunities for education and employment, the charity empowers these young women to overcome the obstacles that stand in their way. As such, they are enabled to lead fulfilling lives. Investing in the potential of these women also has a cascading effect on their families and communities.

The Essence of Collaboration

Central to this gala is the alliance with Freya Rose, a name distinguished in the realm of luxury design and a proponent for the empowerment of women. While Freya Rose’s journey from craftsmanship to global recognition is a testament to determination, the ethos the company embodies also truly stands out to us. For, like Lewis Brownlee, Freya Rose’s brand champions the significance of talent, ambition, and the belief in potential that transcends circumstances. So, our collaboration for this gala, beyond being an association with a revered brand, reinforces our own commitment. As such, we are honoured to stand by Freya Rose’s dedication to driving positive change and championing equal opportunities.

Why it is important to us to support this cause

Supporting this cause is important to us for many reasons. At Lewis Brownlee, we understand the transformative power of opportunity. We believe that talent and ambition should be the defining factors in the success of an individual, not their background or the circumstances they were born into. This gala represents not just a night of fun, but a commitment to making a long-lasting impact on the lives of disadvantaged young women.

The Gala Event

We’re particularly excited about the creative ways in which funds will be raised during the gala. From the auctions to engaging speeches, every aspect of the evening has been meticulously planned. So, it promises to be as enjoyable as it is impactful! For our part, we are looking forward to participating, to connecting with like-minded individuals, and to contributing to a cause that is genuinely transformative. We are also excited to see our ‘balloon game’ unfold. Hopefully, it will ensure the evening goes off with the celebratory bang it deserves!

Looking Forward!

So, there we have it! We cannot wait to be part of an evening that promises to be both exciting and meaningful. We’re always committed to making a tangible difference through our sponsorship. As such, we cannot wait to see the positive change that will undoubtedly come from this incredible initiative. So, the balloons are primed, and the black ties and ball gowns are at the ready! Here’s hoping to see you at the gala and looking forward to sharing pictures from the event.

In the meantime, we would like to say a big thank you to The Freya Rose team for this incredible opportunity; and to The Prince’s Trust for the excellent work being done!

Naturally, any support for the ‘Change A Girl’s Life’ initiative is greatly appreciated. If you would like to contribute to the cause, please do visit The Prince’s Trust website. Alternatively, please do contact us, or Freya Rose direct – we’d both be happy to see how we can help!

Embracing Mental Health Awareness Month at Lewis Brownlee

Embracing Mental Health Awareness Month at Lewis Brownlee

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and at Lewis Brownlee, we recognise the significance of prioritising mental well-being in the workplace. As an accountancy firm, we understand the impact that financial matters can have on people’s mental health, and we strive to support our clients and colleagues in navigating these challenges.

We believe it is essential to address mental health proactively. That’s why we have ensured all Directors and members of our leadership team have attended a Mental Health First Aid course. This training equips our leaders with the knowledge and skills to support colleagues who may be experiencing mental health difficulties.

The Quest for well-being…

When our staff succeed, we all succeed! So, as an extension of our commitment to mental well-being, we have implemented our Quest meetings. These quarterly gatherings allow the entire company to come together and give an open opportunity for staff to provide feedback to management on ways we can improve. By giving our employees a voice and making sure we listen, we create an open and supportive environment where everyone feels valued.

One of the fantastic initiatives resulting from our Quest meetings is the introduction of a day off for all staff on their birthdays. This gesture may seem small, but it’s our way of celebrating the wonderful individuals who make our company great.

Stay human…

When it comes to mental health, it’s not always about grand gestures. Small steps can go a long way in fostering a positive and nurturing work atmosphere. So, whether your business is big or small, there is always something you can do that will make a big difference to staff.

Lets keep the conversation going, be open to change, and most importantly, remember to stay human!
